President’s Welcome

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the ILP Lighting Live Annual Conference 2025, taking place on 18th–19th June at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Glasgow.

Set on the banks of the River Clyde, Glasgow is a city renowned for its rich industrial heritage, cultural vibrancy and architectural brilliance—qualities that resonate deeply with the lighting profession. As one of the UK’s leading cities in innovation and regeneration, Glasgow offers the perfect backdrop for our conference theme of progress through design, data and sustainability.

This year’s conference brings together professionals from across the lighting community for two days of knowledge sharing, professional development, and innovation. With a programme carefully curated to address the evolving challenges and opportunities in our field, we’ll explore themes including sustainability, smart cities, behavioural impacts of lighting, and the power of design and data.

Our sessions reflect a vibrant mix of technical insight, practical application, and forward-thinking dialogue—providing both seasoned experts and emerging professionals with fresh perspectives and actionable ideas.

The event will feature representation from Young Lighting Professionals and Women Lighting Professionals, whose perspectives and contributions are vital to our profession’s continued growth and inclusivity.

Beyond the learning, Lighting Live 2025 is your opportunity to make lasting connections. Our exhibition space will showcase the latest products, services and innovations, while dedicated networking breaks provide a relaxed environment for meeting new peers and catching up with familiar faces.

A true highlight of the event is our Gala Dinner on the evening of Wednesday 18 June, to be held at the iconic Glasgow Science Centre. We are honoured to begin the evening with a Civic Reception hosted by the Lord Provost of Glasgow, followed by dinner and a traditional ceilidh. It’s the perfect setting to connect with peers, celebrate achievements and forge new collaborations—Glaswegian warmth and hospitality guaranteed.

Whether you are a member, exhibitor or sponsor, your participation will be an essential part of making the ILP Lighting Live 2025 Annual Conference a resounding success.

I look forward to welcoming you to this exciting event.
